SPIRULINA
Spirulina is a blue-green algae in a spiral shape, due to the presence, in its composition, of two pigments: phycokinin and chlorophyll. It is considered a superfood to which numerous cosmetic properties are attributed.
Benefits: Spirulina is composed of vitamins of group A, B, C and D. It is also rich in calcium, iron, potassium, phosphorus, magnesium and zinc. Its high content of vitamins and minerals makes it a good ally for skin smoothness. In addition, it is an ideal colorant to use in cosmetics since it is biodegradable, and gives the cosmetic product a very natural light blue color.
Origin: Spirulina is one of the oldest living microorganisms, growing mainly in tropical and subtropical regions.
Traditional uses: The Aztecs collected algae in Lake Texcoco, since it was considered a very nutritious food. Today, it is considered a popular ingredient in Chadian cuisine.
