The Ananas sativus plant has a set of small berries welded together, forming the fruit, which we know as pineapple, which once ripe acquires yellow-orange tones.
Benefits: The main action of pineapple extract is hydration, it helps not to lose the transepidermal water of the skin (TEWL), thanks to its content of carbohydrates, which are capable of absorbing water, in addition to helping to avoid loss of this, thus slowing dehydration. While its high content of α-hydroxy acids, they help stimulate cell regeneration. Its vitamin C content also stands out, which gives it a stimulating activity of collagen synthesis, and an antioxidant action.
Origin: It is a flat one that presents a basal rosette of large, whole leaves, with spiny edges, which can reach 60 cm in length.
Traditional uses: The indigenous people of the Amazon use pineapple juice as a digestive, healing, deworming and abortifacient. While in Malaysia, they use the juice of immature fruits applied to the scalp for 15 minutes to treat dandruff.
