Calcium Complex. This calcium complex known as calcium 2-ketogluconate (Ca-2K) is a natural molecule extracted during the fermentation process of lactic cultures. This complex with great anti-wrinkle and moisturizing properties stimulates the endogenous production of hyaluronic acid and elastin.
This complex acts in the dermis where most biological processes take place, increasing the biomechanical properties, especially the elasticity of the skin.
During the aging process, the synthesis of elastin and hyaluronic acid tends to decrease, while certain enzymes increase their degradation. As a result, the skin loses elasticity and flexibility. Ca-2K increases the concentration of the HAS2 enzyme and therefore increases the synthesis of endogenous hyaluronic acid by helping to combat the signs of skin aging.
